DIAGNOSIS, CARE, AND MANAGEMENT OF PERSONS WITH HIV/AIDS
January 4-6, 2010    NEW OFFERING!!

This course provides participants with evidence-based clinical management strategies and prevention techniques for HIV and HIV/AIDS within the US. The state of the science of HIV/AIDS and its biology, epidemiology, and impact will be presented and discussed. Course content includes diagnostic testing, strategies for prevention and management of opportunistic infections, and chronic health conditions and comorbidities resulting from HIV and its treatment.

This course is an introduction to the nurse’s role in global humanitarian relief. It is designed to give an overview of the skills needed to participate in providing health services to large populations in humanitarian emergencies.
