| "This was a wonderful course – the week went by fast! I would not change anything. I am going to encourage some co-workers to take it." |
|
This three-day course provides participants with evidence-based clinical management strategies and prevention techniques for HIV and HIV/AIDS within the United States.
The "state of the science" of HIV/AIDS and its biology, epidemiology, and impact will be presented and discussed. Course content also includes diagnostic testing, strategies for prevention and management of opportunistic infections, and chronic health conditions and comorbidities resulting from HIV and its treatment. Antimicrobial prophylaxis and other prevention techniques and risk-reduction interventions will be discussed.
Panel presentations and case studies from inpatient, outpatient, community-based organizations, and correctional populations will be used to integrate clinical decision making skills into actual HIV/AIDS cases.
