What does it take to be an Effective Research Coordinator?
In many settings, the real work of implementing a research study is delegated to a Research Coordinator. This means coordinators are often responsible for preparing and managing grants and budgets, complying with Federal regulations, preparing regulatory submissions, writing study protocols, creating data collection forms and managing databases, developing recruiting plans, supervising staff, and a multitude of other duties. Many people who have taken on this role know all too well the difficulties of learning all these tasks “on-the job!” The Johns Hopkins Research Coordinator Training Program seeks to help provide research coordinators with the skills necessary to be successful in this very important position. |

Our understanding and utilization of data management principles in clinical research is often incomplete. Data management is more than the design and development of systems for data collection.
